A cordial reunion awaits in Bergen! Football Norway finally gets to see one of its own again on home soil, as the experienced national team player Erik Huseklepp (40) has now signed for Norsk Tippingligakluben Fyllingen – the very team he played for before Brann brought him to the elite league many years ago.

“He’s home again!” (translated to He is home again), Fyllingen cheered on Instagram, where the club officially announced the transfer.

An exciting new role

Fyllingen coach Mads Wedervang tells BT that Huseklepp will have a key role in the team:
“He will be our playmaker on the left wing. Erik is one of the few who can really control an entire game from the winger position – it’s something very special to get the experience he has.

An impressive career

With 36 caps for Norway, as well as stints at clubs such as Brann, Bari, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Haugesund, Åsane and Fyllingsdalen, Huseklepp brings a unique experience back to where it all began.

After having been an assistant to Eirik Horneland in Brann for several seasons, and a short period away from the club after Horneland left for Saint-Étienne, it is now clear that Huseklepp wants to give something back to the local football – and at the same time enjoy the game on the pitch again.

A historical return

This will not only be a joyful day for Fyllingen, but for the entire Bergen football community. With Huseklepp back in the district where he grew up, it is clear that this signing will inspire both teammates and young players in the club.

Welcome home, Erik!
