However, the newspaper later added that Sporting are “open to negotiating a resale next summer” at a reduced price of €70 million plus bonuses, as a thank you to the Swedish international for staying at the club all season.
In early April, The Mail suggested that Viktor Gyökeres would prefer a move to Arsenal rather than Manchester United, despite having previously worked with United manager Rúben Amorim. The reason is that he wants to play Champions League football next season as well.
