Crystal Palace knocked Aston Villa out of the FA Cup with a convincing 3-0 win in the semi-finals. Marcus Rashford on loan has given Villa supporters plenty to cheer about with 4 goals and 6 assists in 17 games, but against Palace, the 27-year-old was out with a hamstring injury. Now it turns out the injury can affect a lot of what happens when the transfer window opens.
Villa have an option to buy £40 million, but are still sitting on the fence if the club should press this button. Aston Villa are desperately fighting for one of the last Champions League tickets in the Premeri League, games in which Marcus Rashford would be a key attacking force, as he has shown in his 17 appearances in a Villa shirt. Unai Emery will not get any more help from Rashford, reports The Athletic.

According to the English media, Rashford is expected to miss the rest of the season (with a small possibility of being fit for the Tottenham game on May 18).
In June, World Cup qualification awaits England, then pre-season for next season. This is certain. Whether Rashford will be invited back by Thomas Tuchel without match practice, or what shirt he wears in pre-season, those are the big questions. The injury came at a very bad time for Rashford and Villa.
