Los Blancos are planning a revolution in their squad after a disappointing season.

According to reports, Real Madrid president Florent Pérez is set to make a number of grand summer signings – in addition to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to sign for Real Madrid for free after confirming that he will leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the season.

But Pérez believes the club needs a major upheaval after they missed out on trophies in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, as well as being four points behind Barcelona in La Liga.

With Carlo Ancelotti on his way out, his successor will have a whole new squad to work with.

Six big targets on the transfer list

According to Real Madrid Confidencial, Pérez is planning an aggressive summer with attacks on some of the biggest clubs in Spain and Europe.

Among the Spanish players Madrid are chasing are:

  • Dean Huijsen (20, Bournemouth) – centre-back
  • Miguel Gutiérrez (22, Girona) – left-back
  • Martín Zubimendi (25, Real Sociedad) – defensive midfield
  • Rodri (27, Manchester City) – defensive midfield

Huijsen has impressed in the Premier League, while Gutiérrez – who Madrid sold to Girona three years ago – is still 50% owned by them. Zubimendi is a key player for Real Sociedad, and Rodri would be a dream signing, but very difficult to pick up from Manchester City.

Two stars from the Bundesliga

In addition, Madrid are targeting two top players from Germany:

  • Joshua Kimmich (29, Bayern Munich) – experienced and versatile
  • Florian Wirtz (21, Bayer Leverkusen) – creative gem

Kimmich has won nine league titles and the Champions League with Bayern, while Wirtz was one of the masterminds behind Leverkusen’s historic double last year.

A stable ready for domination

If Pérez succeeds with these signings, Real Madrid will be stronger in key positions and get more creativity behind an already fearsome attack with Mbappé, Vinícius Jr and Rodrygo.

This could be one of the most ambitious transfer windows ever for the Spanish giant.
