Antonio Conte has lifted the Serie A trophy four times as a coach. Three times with Juventus, then for Inter Milan in the 2020/21 season. At the Milan club, Conte chose to celebrate by leaving the club. This season, the Italian is back in Serie A as Napoli coach. Here too, it is heading for a title, here too an early exit is in the cards. For Scott McTominay, who has gone from an anonymous role at Man United to one of Serie A’s biggest stars, a real downer.

Conte is not known to be at the same club for a long time. Either the demanding coach leaves after disagreements with the management/owners, or he forces a dismissal, where he is left with a solid compensation. When he signed for Napoli, we thought ours. Sure, Conte and club owner Aurelius de Laurentiis, it could be an interesting battle between two egos.

So far, the collaboration has yielded great results, with Napoli leading three points above Inter Milan with three games left and can decide the series themselves.

But there is a conflict lurking in the shadows of Naples. Football-Italia brings reports from various Italian media, which claim there is friction between Conte and the club president, where Conte is said to be very frustrated that Kvaratscheila was not replaced, when he was sold to PSG.

The irritation is said to be so strong that Conte could end up leaving the club after the first season, even with the title in the box, it is reported. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli have started talks with former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri about taking over.

Antonio Conte has arguably boosted Scott McTominay’s career after his move from United last summer, the Napoli coach saw untapped potential in the Scot, in a more attacking role. In 31 league games, McTominay has 11 goals, so Conte has no doubt given the former super reserve a boost in his career. If Conte leaves already after the season, this will be a big downfall for McTominay.
