The Sporting CP striker has impressed this season and will be sold in the summer.
According to reports, Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres has “made his choice” about which club he wants to play for next season.
Gyökeres, 26, is one of Europe’s most in-form strikers and has recorded 52 goals and 12 assists in 49 games in the 2024/25 season.

As a result of his consistently good performances, the Swedish international has been linked with several top clubs, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain among those reportedly interested.
His current contract expires in June 2026, and he could be available for a sum between €55-70 million this summer.
As The Telegraph reported on Thursday (8 May), Arsenal’s new sporting director Andrea Berta tried to sign Gyökeres for Atletico Madrid earlier, and the Swede is considered a more “realistic option” than Newcastle’s Alexander Isak – who the Magpies insist is not for sale.
The report also mentions that Sporting are expected to accept an offer under his buyout clause, which is believed to be between £63.5 million and £72 million.
Gyökeres’ decision will likely depend on whether Arsenal and Manchester United play in the Champions League next season. Arsenal are well placed to qualify, while United can also secure a place by winning the Europa League final against Tottenham on May 21.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has already promised that this summer will be “big” after Berta was hired in April.
“It’s going to be a big [summer] and we’re very excited,” Arteta said at a press conference.
“When we build further, we want to increase the breadth of the squad, the quality and the skills we need to take the next step. Every summer is great because it is an opportunity, and especially because we need it in terms of our stable.
“But it will be a big summer for many reasons – first and foremost we have to maintain the good foundation we have, and then see how we can improve and develop the team.
