Caroline Wozniacki resumed her tennis career after more than 3 years of break. The former ranking leader played her first match back at the tournament in Montreal and immediately recorded a win. She defeated Kimberly Birrell in the first round. How did she feel after winning?

Caroline Wozniacki is a Danish tennis player of Polish descent. In the past, she triumphed at the Australian Open 2018 and reached the final of the US Open twice. She was the leader of the ranking for 71 weeks. In December 2019, she announced that she was retiring after the 2020 Australian Open. After 3 years, 8 months and 2 children, Wozniacki decided to return to the game.

As Wozniacki herself claims, she still has a few tennis dreams to fulfill. She returns to the game to fight for their fulfillment. She believes she has a chance to win matches and win another Grand Slam trophy. Only time will tell if Wozniacki will achieve her goals. One thing is certain though. When Wozniacki returned after a few years off and took to the court to play in Montreal, she looked as if she had never had a break in her career. She defeated Kimberly Birrell in the first round. She was eliminated in the second round, losing to this year’s Wimbledon champion.

What were Wozniacki’s first impressions after returning to the court after such a long break?

-It’s like riding a bicycle. This can not be forgotten. I didn’t feel like I had a break. I was delighted and excited to be back on the court and able to compete in front of my loved ones. It’s great to be back at that age. It’s even better when your own children watch you and the older one starts to understand what tennis is all about. It’s great- Wozniacki said after defeating Kimberly Birrell.
