Manchester United are preparing a major rebuild of their squad in the summer and need to raise money through player sales.

According to reports, United have set out to raise €90 million through the sale of two players who have lost their key role at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford and Antony are on the starting list, and the club has already put price tags on both:

  • Rashford: €50 million
  • Antony: At least 40 million euros

The goal is clear: to rationalize the squad and raise funds to finance a sporting renewal.

Antony on uncertain ground

Antony’s future is still undecided. The Brazilian winger is currently on loan at Real Betis, but has not fully convinced. United are hoping to recoup a significant portion of the £85 million investment they paid for him in 2022.

His efforts in the Conference League final could be crucial – both to increase their market value and to determine whether Betis will try to buy him permanently. If the Andalusian team secures European Cup play through a win, the negotiation opportunities could increase.

Rashford’s predicament

Rashford, a club icon who has played for United since he was a child, seems to have fallen out of favour with the coaching staff. Aston Villa have shown interest, but the Englishman is not interested in a permanent move – especially if it doesn’t involve Champions League football.

However, the situation could change depending on whether United manage to secure a Champions League place through the Europa League final against Tottenham.

A busy summer awaits

With these potential sales, United aims to:

  • Freeing up the wage base
  • Create room for new signings
  • Strengthen weak areas in the squad

A hectic transfer season is expected at Old Trafford, with several important decisions in the pipeline.
