Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are planning a massive summer ahead of Wrexham’s return Championship.
Wrexham are reportedly preparing a bid for another top player from the Premier League, after their interest in Fulham’s Tom Cairney was revealed.
After securing three consecutive promotions from League Two, it is expected that Wrexham will spend big in the upcoming summer transfer window to ensure survival in the Championship.

This led to shocking reports that the club’s owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, were considering a club-record bid for Fulham star Cairney.
But now it seems that Cairney is not the only Premier League player Wrexham want to sign this summer, as they have reportedly also targeted another player from England’s top division.
According to Football League World, Wrexham are preparing a bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien, who caught their attention during loan spells at D.C. United, Middlesbrough, LAFC and Swansea City.
The 26-year-old has only made 17 appearances for Forest since signing in 2022, but became a crowd favourite during his time at Swansea in the second half of the 2024/25 season, making six appearances.
However, Wrexham are not the only club interested in O’Brien. Swansea want to bring him back permanently, and Carlos Corberan’s Valencia are also said to be on the hunt for him.

It is unclear exactly what Wrexham are willing to offer O’Brien, but with reports that the Welsh side are considering offering Cairney £50,000 in weekly wages, the midfielder can expect a similarly impressive contract thanks to his Premier League experience.
Who else can join Wrexham this summer?
Along with Cairney and O’Brien, Reynolds and McElhenney are also considering a big boost for Premier League legend Jamie Vardy, who will become a free agent this summer.
After 13 years at Leicester City, Vardy shocked fans when he announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
With 341 appearances and 144 goals in the Premier League, the 38-year-old will almost certainly become Wrexham’s highest-paid player if he signs before next season.
