It was a horrible 2-7 loss for Zinckernagel and the Chicago Fire against Nashville at the end of April, but what a goal by the Dane! For those of us who have followed Zinckernagel in the yellow Bodø/Glimt shirt x 2 rounds, in English football and at Standard Liege (we happily skip the stays at Olympiakos and Club Brugge), it was great to see the Dane curl in a free-kick gem with the utmost obviousness. On Sunday night, the 30-year-old shot his way onto the scoresheet again.

In the previous MLS round, the Dane helped send Ronny Deila and Atlanta United to the locker room with another loss. Zinckernagel wasn’t last, or second-to-last, on the ball before Chicago scored, but against Charlotte on Sunday night, the 30-year-old chased in another goal.

The Chicago Fire won 1-4, Zinckernagel’s goal is worth watching. This is an attacking player who really wants the ball in front of the opponent’s goal:
