The atmosphere is good in Barcelona these days. – La Liga has been won and soon they can move home to their expanded and renewed grand hall Camp Nou. Although the economy is and is gradually improving, all purchases of players must be financed by player sales. – One of those who can be sold is Ferrán Torres.
According to the Birmingham Mail, a newspaper that follows the club closely, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery and sporting director Monchi are interested in signing the Spanish right winger.

An important contributor for Barça
Ferrán Torres (25) has been one of Barcelona’s most effective attacking players this season – despite often starting games on the bench. Still, he has impressed with 19 goals and 7 assists in 45 games.
When Robert Lewandowski was injured, Torres took over the responsibility at the top and delivered strong performances. Among the highlights:
- Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid: He scored the goal that sent the game into extra time, even though Barcelona eventually lost 1-2.
- Decisive Clásico win in the league: He provided three assists in a dramatic 4-3 win over Madrid, helping Barça secure the league title.
However, his season was interrupted by an appendectomy, which meant that he had to sit out the celebrations of the league title against Espanyol, as well as the games against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao.
Aston Villa ready bid?
His solid performances have not gone unnoticed. According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are considering a bid of around €50 million to sign him. This would be a significant sum, especially considering that Barcelona have already paid off most of the initial transfer fee (€55 million plus bonuses).
Will Torres leave Barcelona?
Although there is interest from England, it seems unlikely that Torres wants to leave. He thrives at Barcelona, is well-liked by both teammates and coaches, and is expected to become an even more important player as Lewandowski (36) nears the end of his career.
A sign of his popularity in the dressing room came when several teammates – including Pedri, Dani Olmo, Eric García and Iñigo Martínez – visited him in the hospital after surgery to show support.
Aston Villa are very interested, but Barcelona will probably demand a high sum, and Torres himself seems suited in Catalonia.
