Just weeks after right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold confirmed that he will leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season, Liverpool seem to have already found a replacement in Frimpong.

Liverpool triggered the Dutch international’s €35 million buyout clause in his Bayer Leverkusen contract, and will officially present him as a new signing in the coming days.

Liverpool are not done strengthening their squad – now they will turn their focus to the next signing, while Arne Slot is working on reshaping the squad. “Liverpool have now officially made contact with Bournemouth regarding a deal for left-back Milos Kerkez, and negotiations are in full swing”.

While they are discussing a transfer fee with Bournemouth, talks are also being held with the Hungarian international about personal terms in a potential contract.

Kerkez has not exactly been discreet about his desire for a change of club this summer. Already in March, he stated to The Athletic:

“As a kid, you dream of playing at the highest level, winning trophies, and being on the best teams… This summer we’ll see what happens.”

And it’s no secret that the 21-year-old is eager for a move to Anfield. The star player has regularly hinted at the transfer on social media.

The exact details of the transfer fee Bournemouth will receive for Kerkez, or the salary he can expect at Liverpool, are not yet known. But it is expected that both will be easily clarified in the near future.

Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira revealed further details about the deal, claiming that Bournemouth want between £45-50 million for Kerkez. According to Schira, the player will sign a five-year contract with Liverpool that lasts until 2030.

Kerkez has distinguished himself as one of Bournemouth’s star players this season, making 39 appearances across all competitions. He joined the club from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for £15.5 million, and has since attracted interest from clubs such as Manchester City, AC Milan and Napoli.
