Yesterday I saw Ajax, who were dependent on PSV losing their game to Sparta Rotterdam to become league champions, host Twente at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
Before the game, I was absolutely sure that Liverpool legend Jordan Henderson, who made the mistake of going to Saudi Arabia, turned around after six months to discover it wasn’t so easy for a return. Ajax, who were in complete crisis mode, signed the England defensive midfielder in January 2024.
A clear sign of Jordan Henderson’s “invisibility” is Transfermarkt’s valuation which is now down to €3.5 million.

I was convinced that it would be short-lived and that when Championship club Sunderland contacted me this winter, it would be “hasta la vista” for Jordan Henderson at the Johan Cruijff Arena. But the transition never happened, even though I was absolutely sure that it had happened. I was surprised, to put it mildly, when I saw him score the first goal in the clash against Twente.
So in other words, Jordan Henderson is at Ajax.
Below you can see photo evidence. Jordan Henderson thanks manager Francesco Farioli who resigns/was sacked after it became clear at the weekend that PSV became Ererdivisie champions and not Ajax.
Ajax have put former Ajax and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on their list of potential replacements, if that happens, there won’t be much hugging out on the grass at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
