Chairman and majority shareholder of Real Valladolid Club de Fútbol, Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima, announces the signing of an agreement to transfer the majority stake in the club to a North American investment group with financial support from a European fund.

When football legend Ronaldo Nazário bought a controlling stake in Real Valladolid in the autumn of 2018, it was with the promise that greatness lay in the club’s future. If anything, it has been a team’s constant battle to stay in La Liga.

Ronaldo Nazario, who is arguably one of the greatest strikers of all time, two Ballon d’Or, three times FIFA best player and two World Cup gold medals, proves it – the 47-year-old is not going to be considered the best football manager and owner of all time, at least not for his time at Real Valladolid.

The Jojo club was relegated from La Liga this year for the third time under Ronaldo’s ownership.

Football legend Ronaldo Nazário (47) has confirmed that he is selling his stake in Spanish club Real Valladolid to a North American investment consortium.

The Brazilian bought 51% of the shares in 2018 for 30 million euros, but in recent years has faced growing discontent among supporters.

From goal machine to owner,
Ronaldo is considered one of the best attacking players of all time. He had a legendary season at Barcelona (1996-97) with 47 goals in 49 games, before playing for Inter and Real Madrid, among others. As a national team player, he won the World Cup with Brazil in both 1994 and 2002.

Now, the former star could be embarking on a new career path. It is rumored that he is a possible candidate to take over as president of the Brazilian Football Federation.

“Ronaldo has always had a strategic mind, both on and off the pitch. This could be the start of a new chapter,” comments a source close to the player.

Now waiting to see if “The Phenomenon” will make as big an impression in the administration as he did as a player.
