Barcelona are preparing for their final game of the 2023/24 season, an away game against Athletic Club at San Mamés on Sunday. The mood is high before the end of the season, which was shown during the team’s last training session before Hansi Flick’s squad travels to Bilbao.
Headlines in newspapers that are less serious than us in Sporten.com and who only want clicks were as follows: Szczęsny and Lewandowski in “fights” – but these were high-level plays.

Cameras were present during Barcelona’s training, and a funny moment was captured by Diario AS. The video showed how the Polish duo Wojciech Szczęsny and Robert Lewandowski got involved in a “fist fight” during the session.
It was a humorous performance that surely made his teammates laugh, and it underlines the good atmosphere of the reigning La Liga champions. Barca will of course hope to end the season with a win at San Mamés.

Acting talents on the field
Szczęsny and Lewandowski showed impressive acting skills during this “quarrel”. Given that both are in the final stages of their careers, they might as well consider an acting career when they retire.
Szczęsny can add up – again
The match against Athletic could be Szczęsny’s last as a Barcelona player. The contract he signed in October expires in June, and the club wants to extend it for another year. But the goalkeeper has yet to make a decision – and if he doesn’t renew, he will retire for the second year in a row.
If this is the end, it will be a beautiful end to his career after he helped Barcelona to a treble (La Liga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa). Lewandowski, on the other hand, will stay at least one more season, as his contract runs until the summer of 2026.
