There is a fight every transfer window to find the best goalkeepers. Not only the best, but also the best number two, number three in the playing time queue. Barcelona have in recent months been heavily linked with Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia with the “nice” buyout clause of 25 million euros. Now it is reported that the 24-year-old does not see himself moving to his city rival, but is drawn towards the Premier League.

Espanyol boss Fran Garagarza can’t understand Garcia putting on the Barca shirt. I’m not inside his head, but I would be very surprised if he moves to Barca. Partly because they have Ter Stegen, partly because they are our eternal rivals, that would shock me,” Garagarza said according to Football-Espana.

Several Premier League clubs have shown interest in Garcia. Now, Spanish newspaper Relevo reports that the goalkeeper is not particularly keen on moving to Barça, but rather prefers a move to the Premier League. He is said to have informed Espanyol about this.

So which clubs are involved?

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Bayer Leverkusen with Erik ten Hag as their new coach have also signalled their interest.
