Barcelona midfielder Gavi has admitted that there is transfer interest from PSG, but even though he says that Luis Enrique is the best coach in the world, it is not bad news for Blaugrana fans.

Gavi, 20, has long been linked with a move to the Champions League winners, and while the interest is clearly still there, it doesn’t seem like the Spanish international wants to leave Camp Nou.

In fact, he has committed his future to Barcelona for as long as the club wants him.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Gavi was asked about PSG’s interest and replied: “Yes, yes, but it’s not going to happen. I feel calm here. My dream and ambition is to stay at Barcelona for the rest of my career. It’s the club of life for me. I will do everything in my power to stay here.

I am fully aware of that. People believe what they read in the media…”

Gavi pays tribute to Luis Enrique and Flick

Despite his clear intention to remain at the Catalan club, Gavi says Luis Enrique is the best coach in the world.

“For me, he’s the best. He’s number one, someone who stands out, both him and his staff,” the midfielder said.

“I’m so happy for him. He was the one who gave me my national team debut, against European champions Italy at San Siro. I will never forget that day. And he had the courage to bet on me, even though everyone was after him. I’m so happy for him, and he deserves everything.”

At the same time, current Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has also won Gavi’s favor.

“Very close, I think you can see that. But not only with me, but with the whole team as well. He’s a man who’s always there for you when you need him, and that’s very important,” he said.

Gavi missed the first two months of the season while completing his rehabilitation after a serious injury, but he still managed to make 42 appearances for Barcelona this season, with three goals and three assists.
