Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have had a feeding at the top for several seasons. They have all lacked the goal guarantee in a striker, the 20-30 goals that are delivered season after season. United have secured Matheus Cunha as a starter, Chelsea are working hard to secure a striker potential top scorer in the Premier League, Arsenal are in several processes, where striker signing is the top priority. In recent months, two strikers in particular have been heavily linked to the Gunners.

Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyökeres? That is the big question at the London club. Previous reports have claimed that Sesko is “Gunner’s” first choice. According to The Independent, that is still the case.

A couple of reasons why Arsenal’s club management prefers the Slovenian over the Swede is Sesko’s potential development, as he is five years younger than Gyökeres and Sesko’s potential is seen as higher.

According to the English media, there is a “general perception” in the transfer market that Gyökeres is overpriced with his price tag of around €65 million. Scoring goals makes the Swede sparkle (54 in 52 games), but the Portuguese league is considered weaker, which is dominated by three big clubs.

The English media claim that Arsenal’s interest in Gyökeres has waned, as the club is now considering several options as a backup, such as Ollie Watkins and Goncalo Ramos.
