Tottenham have chosen to end their partnership with manager Ange Postecoglou, and a clear favourite to take over has already emerged.

The club went through a disappointing season in the Premier League, where they finished in a disappointing 17th place with only 38 points after just 11 league wins. – However, Tottenham partially saved the 2024/25 season by winning the Europa League, securing them Champions League play next season.

The victory came after a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final in Bilbao last month.

Despite success – fired

Although Postecoglou led the club to its first title in 17 years, he has now been sacked.

The decision comes after a week of deliberations by chairman Daniel Levy.

Big upheaval at Tottenham

The decision follows a number of changes at senior management level:

  • Donna-Maria Cullen, who has been with the club for many years, announced that she is stepping down from her position
  • Vinai Venkatesham was appointed as the new CEO earlier this year.

Thomas Frank clear favorite

It seems that Tottenham have already found their new manager.

The club is now considering Brentford’s Thomas Frank, who has already held talks with Spurs over a potential transfer.

According to Sky Sports, Brentford will not stand in Frank’s way if he wants to make the step up to a bigger club.

Frank’s impressive CV

Frank joined Brentford in 2016 as an assistant coach, before taking over the main responsibility in 2018.

The Danish coach has done an outstanding job with Brentford:

  • Led the club to the Premier League via play-off win in 2020/21
  • Established Brentford as a permanent Premier League team

Postecoglou’s legacy

Postecoglou leaves Tottenham after two seasons:

  • Led the club to 5th place in its debut season
  • Came from Celtic where he won five major trophies, including two Scottish league championships in a row

Now Tottenham are ready for a new chapter under potentially Thomas Frank’s leadership.
