Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio travelled to England this week to hold talks, but there is disagreement about the valuation. Manchester United are asking for around €60 million, while Inter Milan are willing to offer around €40-45 million.
Højlund expects to be
When asked about the possibility of leaving Manchester United this summer, Hojlund said the following after Denmark’s 2-1 win over Northern Ireland in a friendly on Saturday:
“I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United,”
Hojlund is no longer part of manager Rúben Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season.
Hojlund’s problems in Manchester
Manchester United signed Hojlund in the summer of 2023 from Atalanta for €75 million plus €10 million in bonuses.
The 22-year-old striker has struggled significantly, failing to score a single Premier League goal before Christmas in his first season.
Although he improved a bit in the second part of the season, his second season was just as disappointing. Hojlund scored just four Premier League goals throughout the season, and United have now given up faith in the striker.
Rúben Amorim has made the signing of a top striker one of his main priorities in this transfer window. Manchester United must sell Hojlund first to raise funds for a new striker.

Hojlund impressed greatly in the first half of 2023 at Atalanta and was regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in European football.
He scored 15 goals for club and country during the calendar year before his move to Manchester United.
