Bayern Munich are still reportedly interested in signing Liverpool right winger Cody Gakpo.

Gakpo has scored 41 goals and provided 17 assists in 129 appearances since joining Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023.

The 26-year-old was not guaranteed a place in the starting line-up last season, but still finished with 18 goals and seven assists in 49 appearances in all competitions – including 15 goals/assists in 35 Premier League games as Liverpool won their 20th league title.

Uncertain future under Arne Slot?

Questions have now been raised as to whether Gakpo will be part of Liverpool’s squad next season, after Bayern Munich have identified him as a potential target for their summer strategy.

  • Gakpo himself has stated that he was not aware of Bayern’s interest
  • According to journalist Florian Plettenburg, Bayern are still keeping in touch with the Dutchman
  • He is seen as an alternative to Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, who Barcelona are leading the race for

The German giants want to bring in a winger to replace Leroy Sané, who is leaving for free Galatasaray.
