Darwin Nunez “chose” the worst possible timing by entering the stage in the Premier League. Because at the same time as the Uruguayan striker pulled on the Liverpool shirt, Erling Haaland did the same with the City shirt. Kevin de Bruyne is already in place at Antonio Conte, according to Football-Italia, Napoli are the favourite to sign Darwin Nunez. The Serie A club have reportedly made a verbal bid of €43 million for the Liverpool striker, with the crowd at Anfield signalling they are willing to sell to limit the loss after the €85 million transfer in 2022, but are demanding €50 million.

Conte already has Romelu Lukaku, but Nunez has other qualities as a striker that the Napoli coach has seen he needs. When we saw how Conte “unleashed” Scott McTominay for a debut season that resulted in the Serie A Player of the Year award and the league title, there is great anticipation for what Conte can “unleash” in Darwin Nunez.
