The 30-year-old scored 110 goals in 172 appearances for Wrexham in all competitions, making him the club’s seventh all-time leading scorer. His goal helped the Welsh team to three consecutive promotions.

However, Mullin only made nine appearances from the start last season as Wrexham finished second in League One and secured automatic promotion to the Championship, with only three league goals to his name.

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter”
“I’m excited about the next part of my story,” Mullin told Wigan’s official website after the loan transfer was confirmed. “The manager has presented his plan for the season and I hope to bring his confidence into the games and make this a successful season.”

“As a player, I give absolutely everything and work as hard as I can. I have scored a lot of goals in recent years, but above all I give everything for the club I play for – and I will do that again with Wigan.”

Mullin joins a Wigan side that finished 15th in the Third Division last season, a full 22 points behind the play-off places. The team is led by Ryan Lowe, who was hired in March.
