The English left winger is one of Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s targets in the summer transfer window.

Marcus Rashford has become one of the strongest candidates to bolster FC Barcelona’s attack, not only because of his renowned quality, but also because of the financial conditions that could make a transfer easier. However, the England striker has made it clear that the signing will only be possible if he is guaranteed a central role in Hans-Dieter Flick’s project at Camp Nou, according to Nacional CAT.

The Manchester United winger is seeking a fresh start after losing his prominent position at Old Trafford, where he no longer even wears the number 10 shirt. The arrival of Rubén Amorim in the Red Devils’ coaching chair has definitely closed the door on his continued existence at the club, and the English club want to sell him in a transfer – without considering loans. In this scenario, Barcelona emerges as the preferred target for the 26-year-old striker.

Rashford wants to be significant at Barcelona

Barcelona’s sporting management rates his profile positively: experience, speed, dribbling skills and a transfer fee that could be around 50 million euros, significantly lower than other options such as Luis Díaz. Rashford is even willing to significantly reduce his salary to fulfill his dream of wearing the blue-gray shirt, but he will not accept coming to sit on the bench.

The player is demanding game time guarantees and continuity, as he believes that this is the only way he can get back to his best form and return to England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. His ambition is clear: to regain lost prestige and become a key player, not only at his new club, but also in the national team now led by Thomas Tuchel.

It is now up to Barcelona to decide whether they can offer the role Rashford considers crucial.
