The Balearic player is looking for a new club as he is not part of Luis Enrique’s plans at PSG.

Marco Asensio has taken an unexpected turn in his near future. The Spanish footballer has chosen to turn down a generous offer from Fenerbahçe, a club that, under José Mourinho’s leadership, offered him no less than nine million euros per season. Despite the tempting amount, the player is not considering – at least not for the time being – a game in the Turkish league.

His goal remains to stay in one of the major European leagues, and more attractive options have emerged from a sporting perspective. Clubs such as Villarreal and AC Milan have already shown interest in signing him. But in the last few hours, a new heavy name has expressed its interest: Inter Milan.

Inter – the best option
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the reigning Italian champion is seriously considering the possibility of bringing the PSG player to his squad. The biggest challenge, however, is Asensio’s high salary in Paris, which is estimated at around 14 million euros annually. Inter are not yet able to cover the full amount, so the key will be how much of the salary the French club is willing to continue paying.

Asensio is not part of Luis Enrique’s plans and was not even registered for the Club World Cup, underlining his marginal role. If PSG want to avoid losing him for free in January, they may have to accept a loan or a reduced transfer fee this summer.
