Manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly started “private” talks with Noni Madueke as Arsenal intensify their pursuit of the right winger.

The England international could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer following the arrivals of João Pedro, Estevão Willian and Jamie Gittens, with Enzo Maresca’s side open to a surprise sale.

Madueke has established himself as one of Chelsea’s most important players this season with 16 goals in 44 games, but the Blues are willing to sell him permanently before the 2025/26 season if they receive a suitable offer.

Chelsea demand €58 million

According to The Guardian’s Ed Aarons, Chelsea are demanding €58 million (£50 million) to approve a sale this summer, and Arsenal are among the clubs watching Madueke’s situation closely.

The Gunners are clearly looking for a new winger to bolster Arteta’s chances next season, and have pointed out Madueke as a possible alternative to Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo.

Madueke open for Arsenal transfer?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Madueke could be open to a move to Arsenal this summer, and the London club have reportedly already sent an initial contract offer to the 23-year-old.

Arteta is a big admirer of Madueke and has initiated “private” contact with the England winger, according to Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips, in an attempt to convince him of a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Flexible winger

Madueke has been touted as a key target for Arsenal in their search for a new winger, with the Englishman seen as a player who can cover both sides.

The former Tottenham Hotspur academy player is a natural right winger, but in recent months has played significantly on the left side for both Chelsea and England.

No longer “untouchable”

Chelsea are willing to keep Madueke if a suitable bid does not come in, but he is no longer considered “untouchable” by the management at Stamford Bridge.
