The 23-year-old England international has signed a five-year contract that runs until the summer of 2030, becoming the Gunners’ fourth summer signing after Christian Nørgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi.
Madueke confirmed his departure from Chelsea shortly before his presentation at Arsenal, returning to north London seven years after leaving Tottenham’s youth academy in 2018.
Arteta: “He will feel right at home
”
“We are all very happy to welcome Noni Madueke to the team,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told the club’s official website. He is one of the most talented wingers in the Premier League.
“At just 23 years old, he already has experience from both club and national team football, and he knows the Premier League well. After seeing the quality of his game up close over the past few seasons, we are really thrilled that he is joining us.
Arteta added:
“Noni will be part of a group with several England teammates and players he already knows. He will feel at home right away. His arrival will really strengthen the squad – we are all happy to have him here. On behalf of everyone: Welcome, Noni, and welcome to your family.

Careers with great potential
Madueke first made his mark in the Netherlands with PSV before returning to England and Chelsea in January 2023. In total, he recorded 20 goals and nine assists in 92 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
Last season, he scored 11 goals, including seven in the Premier League, and sporting director Andrea Berta called the transfer an “excellent deal” for Arsenal.
“We are very pleased to have completed an excellent deal for a hugely talented young player like Noni Madueke,” said Berta. “Noni’s performances and availability over the past few seasons have been exceptionally good, reflecting his quality and professionalism.
“He is a dynamic and versatile winger with strong technical ability, which will strengthen the squad significantly. He already has valuable experience at the top level, and we know that he will be very successful at Arsenal. Together with everyone in the club, we warmly welcome him.
Kit number 20 and pre-season schedules
Arsenal’s newest signing will wear shirt number 20, which was last worn by ex-Chelsea player Jorginho. Previously, Mathieu Flamini, Shkodran Mustafi and Nuno Tavares have also had this number.
Madueke did not feature in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup to complete his move to Arsenal, but played five games in the United States before the deal was finalised.
As a result, Arsenal have confirmed that the 23-year-old will not be on the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, but will appear at London Colney in early August.
Thus, Madueke can make his unofficial Arsenal debut against Villarreal on August 6, three days before the Gunners finish pre-season with the Emirates Cup match against Athletic Bilbao.
New signings on the way?
Following the Madueke signing, Arsenal are expected to step up their efforts to secure Viktor Gyökeres and Cristhian Mosquera, but according to reports, there is still work to be done to complete the former.
