If Aalesund starts next season in the OBOS-League as they finished the previous one, there is no one who can stop Kjetil Rekdal from lifting the club back to the Eliteserien.
Aafk writes in the press release that they have brought in a player they have great faith in: 22-year-old Frederik Heiselberg scored his first Superliga goal in the match where Thomas Thomasberg made his comeback as FC Midtjylland coach.
Heiselberg started the match in Odense and the two subsequent Superliga games, but since then FC Midtjylland has picked up speed and is now the defending league champion with what looks like a close gold medal match against FCK ahead of them over the next three months. The competition has thus also intensified.
The Dane has played 36 games for AC Horsens and FC Fredericia and was at FC Midtjylland also in two qualifying matches in the Europa League against Sporting Lisbon. The 1.90cm tall striker started the away game which ended 1-1.
- I am very happy, and have been looking forward to coming up here. Now I’m just really excited to get started! I’m a big attacker who likes to be in the middle of the box. Gives everything to score goals and loves a good duel, says Heiselberg himself.
Heiselberg thus becomes the fourth Dane in the doors after Kjetil Rekdal took over. Paul Ngongo and Janus Seehusen arrived in the summer, before Mathias Kristensen signed in January.
- Frederik is a power forward who has great potential. He has a flair for goals, is hardworking and fits well into our concept, says head coach Kjetil Rekdal.
There is one goal for the season for Aalesund
