Kjetil Rekdal and Aalesund are chasing promotion from the OBOS-League – but they will have to do it without Claudio Braga. It will also be without Noah Solskjaer, who a few days ago agreed with the club to terminate his contract.

Aalesund is currently in 7th place in the OBOS-Liga. On June 15, they will host Stabæk at Color Line Stadium.

The 25-year-old Portuguese striker Claudio Braga is on his way away from the club. Scottish Hearts will complete the transfer when the Scottish transfer window opens this summer.

Braga came to Aalesund before the 2023 season and has so far scored three goals in this season’s 1st division. Although the numbers are not explosive, he has been an important piece in Rekdal’s game.

A big loss for Aalesund

The sale of Braga represents a significant loss for Aalesund, who under Kjetil Rekdal’s leadership have invested heavily in promotion to the Eliteserien.

  • Braga in Aalesund:
  • Arrived: 2023
  • Goals in the 2024 season: 3
  • Position: Attacking player
  • Nationality: Portuguese

With Braga on their way out, Rekdal and Aalesund face the challenge of finding a replacement who can contribute to the promotion battle. The club has proven to be a skilled developer of player talent, and it will be interesting to see who they choose to bet on to fill the void left by Braga.

Hearts’ new strength:
For Hearts, who play in Scotland’s top division, Braga represents an exciting signing. The Scottish club has in recent years brought in several players from Scandinavian leagues with success. – Among others, Sander Kartum who was brought in from Brann this winter and Christian Borchgrevink who was brought in from Vålerenga around the same time.
