The news from Milan is not good news for Napoli. Many believe that AC Milan had a bad time sacking manager Sergio Conceição after the powerful rumours about Massimiliano Allegri and Napoli.

Directly after Antonio Conte won the Serie A title with Inter Milan in 2021, he resigned from the coaching job after disagreements with the owners. Now a replay awaits in Naples. Last week, Conte secured the Serie A title for the club, the last week Italian media has reported that Conte is packing his bags in the port city. This has opened up a game between Napoli and rival AC Milan.

Transfer journalist Di Marzio claims Conte is done, with Max Allegri as the top candidate to take over. The former Juventus coach has a high star in Italian football and is always relevant when the biggest Serie A clubs change coaches. Di Marzio reports AC Milan have thrown themselves around to prevent Napoli from securing Allegri.

When Sergio Conceição took over as manager of AC Milan in December, replacing his compatriot Paulo Fonseca, the club had already had poor results for a while.

“We would like to thank Sérgio Conceição and his team for their dedication, professionalism and dedication during the period they have led the team,” the club’s statement reads.

Milan finished the season in eighth place in Serie A.

According to several media outlets, Massimiliano Allegri is the favorite to take over the coaching job.

Allegri was last manager of Juventus, but he left the Turin club in May last year. AC Milan are said to be willing to top Napoli’s salary offer of 4 million euros.
