The Serbian striker has not convinced in his two years at the San Siro and will leave the club within days.
The Luka Jovic era at AC Milan is over. The Italian club has chosen not to extend the Serbian striker’s contract, which expires on June 30, and all indications are that his next destination will be outside the European continent. From July 1, the former Real Madrid player will be free to negotiate with all clubs.

Limited success in Milan
After two seasons at the San Siro and a total of thirteen goals, the Milan management has chosen not to make use of the extension clause. Despite a brief resurgence this winter when Sergio Conceiçao took over as coach, Jovic has generally not lived up to expectations. In the last season, he scored just four goals in 17 games, all in the latter half of the season after overcoming a lengthy goal drought.
The future lies across the Atlantic
As reported by the newspaper Marca, the 28-year-old striker, after stints in top leagues such as the Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian, now faces a new crossroads. Italian sources suggest that his most concrete options lie in America, with Mexican Cruz Azul and Brazilian Botafogo being the most interested clubs.
AC Milan are now starting a new phase in the attacking line without leaning on Jovic, who was never able to establish himself as a key player. The uncontracted Serbian now has the opportunity to restock himself far away from the old continent.
