Earlier this month, Alejandro Garnacho won the FIFA Puskas award for his spectacular scissor-kicking goal against Everton. Last season’s up-and-coming talent in the United shirt has seen himself overtaken by Amad Diallo under Ruben Amoriom. This has triggered urgent action by the Argentine player’s representatives.

The 20-year-old has scored 8 goals in 25 games, but clearly has a very different status at Amorim than at Ten Hag. The Portuguese has given all players the opportunity to play their way into the starting eleven, regardless of what has happened earlier in the season. Garnacho has clearly not convinced Amorim enough in training.

Against Manchester City, Garnacho was not in the squad, against Bournemouth not in the starting eleven. According to El Nacional, Garnacho’s agents have understood where it is going, and contacted Barcelona for a potential transfer.

According to the Spanish media, the answer should be blunt: No! Hansi Flick is said to have made it clear to Barca management that he does not want Garnacho in the squad.

The reason is said to be that the Argentine does not fit into “the work philosophy and requirements that Flick wants to implement”.
