There is now full agreement on Kevin de Bruyne’s transfer to Napoli, sources close to the situation have confirmed to CaughtOffside.

The Belgium international is a Bosman player this summer after confirming his exit from Manchester City earlier this year, and a deal with Napoli is finally being finalised.

There are now only small formalities left to be completed in the next 48 hours, and the expectation is that everything can be signed by Thursday this week.

De Bruyne has spent time deciding his future, but in recent weeks there has never been any real doubt about his decision – it has always been clear that Napoli would be his next destination.

Two-year contract and preparations in Naples

De Bruyne will sign a two-year contract with Napoli, and both he and his wife have already been to Naples to prepare for life in the Italian city.

The 33-year-old looks set to be an outstanding signing for Antonio Conte’s side, who are aiming to defend their Serie A title.

De Bruyne won six Premier League titles during his time at Manchester, as well as the Champions League and other major trophies.

Napoli are also chasing other attacking players

Napoli also have other big names on their radar this summer.

One of them is Jonathan David, although a deal there has stagnated, while Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa is also under consideration.

Napoli will also soon have to decide on Victor Osimhen’s future, as the Nigerian international’s loan spell at Galatasaray comes to an end.

However, Osimhen has rejected Al Hilal from the Saudi Arabian league, so it is still not entirely clear where he will play next season – although a departure from Napoli seems all but certain.
