In 2024, Albert Grønbæk “narrowed” down the door to his debut on the Danish national team. After the first matches with brilliant play, Danish journalists were almost in a state of shock: “What has happened to this player?!” What has “happened” was a stay with Bodø/Glimt and Kjetil Knutsen. A year and a half later, the 24-year-old has disappeared to the bench on club teams, while his ticket to the Danish national team has been withdrawn. Now Grønbæk understands he has to make changes.
When the Danish player signed for Rennes in the summer of 2024 and met the Danish press as a new national team player, he sent a heap of praise to Bodø/Glimt and the work being done in the Eliteserien. This was the last time we saw a delighted Grønbæk. Because that didn’t work out at Rennes, not even on loan to Southampton for the second part of last season.

Grønbæk was then sent on loan to Genoa in June. Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira led Genoa, and was convinced the breakthrough of the former Bodø/Glimt player would come.
Then Vieira was fired at the beginning of November, in came Daniele de Rossi. Still no boost for the Dane, Grønbæk has a total of 101 minutes spread over four Serie A games.
In other words, the choice of Rennes, Southampton and now Genoa has not been a success for Grønbæk. Danish Bold reports that the 24-year-old is now changing agents. After several years in Nine Group, Elite Consulting has presented a collaboration with Albert Grønbæk, who is registered in DBU’s system with Ebbe Sand as primary agent.
