Since last autumn, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been training with Arsenal’s U21 team. The 32-year-old has been looking for a club since the summer, when Besiktas pushed the former Arsenal and Liverpool player out of the club. In January, “Ox” has been used in first-team training, with injuries in midfield Mikel Artate stating that, yes, Oxlade-Chamberlain was one of the options to step into the matchmaking arena. On Tuesday, it was reported that the 32-year-old had taken gymnastics north.
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill said he would like to see the former Liverpool player join the Celtic squad, and that he has had talks with Oxlade-Chamberlain. Now it has come a big step further.

According to Sky Sports , Celtic and “Ox” are in advanced negotiations, where it is expected that the midfielder will undergo a medical examination on Thursday. Celtic are in a hurry to get the Englishman in place, if he is to be registered for the Europa League squad.
The deadline for squad registration is midnight on Thursday, and therefore a contract must be in place before then. Celtic meet in the Europa League playoff round against VfB Stuttgart, the first leg will be played on February 19. Then with Oxlade-Chamberlain in the iconic Celtic shirt.
