After finding the back of the net, Liverpool’s record £125 million signing, Alexander Isak, suffered a serious injury in the win over Spurs.
Alexander Isak’s injury will come at a staggering cost to Liverpool, as he looks set to be out for an extended period of time.
Isak, who joined from Newcastle in the summer, scored his third goal for the Reds in the 2-1 win over Spurs on Saturday.

After struggling to get going at Anfield, the Swede had hoped to really kickstart his career at Liverpool with the opening goal against the nine-man strong Spurs.
But a nightmare struck for the former Newcastle United player when he suffered a serious injury not long afterwards when he was challenged by Micky van de Ven in the penalty area.
After coming on at half-time, Isak was forced off the field not long after and replaced by Jeremie Frimpong. The initial fears are not good for the Swede, as according to a number of respected reporters and media outlets, including David Ornstein and Sky Sports, scans are expected to confirm that Isak has broken his leg.
That will leave the former Real Sociedad player out for a period of around three months, in a major blow for Liverpool at a time when Mo Salah has left for the Africa Cup of Nations while his future remains uncertain amid a breakup.
Financially, Liverpool are also at a loss, as their £300,000-a-week striker will not be able to contribute for around 12.9 weeks – which amounts to around £3,870,000.

Isak has made 16 appearances in total in the 2025/26 season, having arrived without a proper pre-season after trying to force a move away from Newcastle.
Which Liverpool games will Isak miss?
Isak was previously absent for five games after a groin injury that kept him out from October to November, but he could be out for a much longer period if MRI scans reveal the worst possible outcome.
And the games are coming thick and fast for Liverpool, who are level on points with Chelsea in fourth place after the win in North London.
Liverpool’s next three games are against Wolves, Leeds and Fulham before they travel to league leaders Arsenal in a big game in early 2026.
Arne Slot’s men host Barnsley in the FA Cup third round before they face Burnley.
Isak will also miss Champions League games against Marseille and Qarabag on either side of an away game against Bournemouth.
He will also be absent for a game against his former club Newcastle at Anfield, as well as the visit from Manchester City and subsequent away games against Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.
After meetings with West Ham and Wolves, he could be back for action against Spurs at Anfield in mid-March.
