Alexander Isak passed Erling Haaland on the Premier League’s top scorer list last season. With Liverpool and Arsenal hammering on the door this summer to secure the goal guarantee, the Swede understands the value he has in the wild world of football. This creates problems for Newcastle.
For the past week, Isak has been linked with Liverpool, who are said to have made a monster bid. Since then, the arrow has turned towards an incomprehensible exit from the Premier League for the “Ronaldo League”. Newcastle are doing everything possible to keep their biggest asset, but are unlikely to push the line in the wage negotiations, according to talkSport.

According to the English media, Isak is demanding a weekly wage of £300,000 to extend his Newcastle contract. In the spring, it was reported that Newcastle are willing to increase their weekly wages from £120,000 to around £200,000.
If Newcastle accept the demand for £300,000 in weekly wages, this will elegantly destroy the club’s current wage structure (the highest paid get £180,000 a week), reports the Daily Mail. Which adds that Alexander Isak will fly with the rest of the squad to Asia later this week.
Then we’ll see what happens, as Isak’s agent so fluently put it earlier in the week.
