Alexander Sørloth’s future at Atlético Madrid is uncertain before the summer transfer window. Despite impressive goal scoring, the Norwegian striker has failed to establish himself as a regular first-team choice under Diego Simeone. This has sparked speculation about a possible transfer, especially as he is also the club’s top scorer in La Liga.
The situation has aroused interest both in the Premier League and with Solskjaer’s Besiktas.
Todofichajes writes that several Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on Alexander Sørloth and more importantly from a Norwegian point of view, they are working intensively for a transfer to Besiktas.
Several Premier League clubs have shown interest in Sørloth, who with his goalscoring flair and ability to deliver both from the start and as a substitute is well suited to the needs of many English teams. Although no specific clubs have announced their interest publicly, it is clear that the Norwegian is high on the wish list of several teams looking to strengthen their attack before next season.

Solskjaer’s Besiktas prepares bid
On the Turkish side, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is showing his willingness to bring his compatriot to Besiktas. Solskjaer already contacted Sørloth last summer, and now work is being done on a concrete offer. Besiktas are counting on Solskjaer’s Norwegian connection and Sørloth’s positive experience from his time at Trabzonspor (where he became Turkey’s top scorer) to help them in the fight for his signature.
However, Atlético Madrid are not interested in a loan – they will only sell if they receive a satisfactory offer. The club paid 32 million euros for Sørloth in 2023, and he has a contract until 2028.
A paradox that challenges Simeone
Sørloth’s situation is remarkable: He is the club’s top scorer in La Liga with 17 goals, yet he is not a regular in the team. His four goals against Real Sociedad underlined even more how effective he can be – something that has led many to question Simeone’s decisions.
This may help increase Sørloth’s desire for a transfer to a club where he will have a more central role.
Is there a summer transfer coming?
With strong interest from both England and Turkey, as well as Atlético Madrid’s openness to a sale if the price is right, there is a good chance that Sørloth could switch clubs as early as this summer. Especially if he himself wants more playing time, or if Atlético wants to free up funds for new reinforcements.
One thing is for sure: Sørloth’s performances have put him on the map, and his next step will be very interesting to follow.
The theme when Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Alexander Sørloth are to be presented is similar to each other.
