What was supposed to save Manchester United this season and deliver Champions League football did not happen.
While Tottenham celebrates and receives funds that can help repair the problems at the club, Manchester United, in addition to struggling with organization, players and status, will struggle with an inflated economy and huge deficits.
There is not much excitement attached to the last Premier League round for Manchester United and their match against Aston Villa. Do they land in 16th or 17th place!! (Aston Villa, for their part, are fighting for the Champions League)
Prices of all Manchester United players ‘revealed’ – entire squad is up for sale after Europa League fiasco
On Wednesday night, United’s miserable 2024/25 season came to a disastrous end when they were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
“The Red Devils” chased both a major trophy and a place in next season’s Champions League, but knelt under the pressure of San Mamés. Finally, it was Brennan Johnson’s goal in the 42nd minute that secured Spurs a 1-0 victory.
Already the day after the final, the media reported that Manchester United have now put all players on the transfer list before the summer window opens.
No one is unsellable – not even Bruno Fernandes
According to The Mirror, United will “listen to offers for ALL players” after the Europa League sorrows. No player is “immune to sale”, meaning that even club captain Bruno Fernandes could disappear to help the club out of its “catastrophic financial crisis”.
The Daily Star has compiled an overview of the alleged price tags for a number of United’s star players:
- Alejandro Garnacho (19): Linked with Chelsea for around £65 million.
- Jadon Sancho (24): Already on loan at Chelsea with an option to buy £25m.
- Marcus Rashford (27): Loaned to Aston Villa, valued at £40 million.
- Antony (24): Has impressed on loan at Real Betis, can be bought for £32.5 million.
- Rasmus Hojlund (21): The Dane can go for £30-50 million.
- Joshua Zirkzee (23): Only a year at the club, but can be sold back to Italy for £35 million.
- André Onana (28): Available for £20 million.
- Casemiro (32): Experienced Brazilian priced at £25 million.
- Diogo Dalot (25): Could bring in £40m.
- Bruno Fernandes (30): The captain could be sold for £50 million.
More players can disappear for free
Players such as Victor Lindelöf, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are likely to leave the club for free when their contracts expire this summer.
It’s going to be a turbulent summer at Old Trafford, and it seems like no player is guaranteed to stay.
