João Felix has reached the age of 25. It seems as if he is older as he has been on the verge of becoming one of the really big ones for a number of years. His transfer fees say it all! Atlético Madrid bought the second striker from Befica in the summer of 2019 for an incredible €119.5 million.

Some thought there would be some calm last summer when Chelsea João Felix from Atlético Madrid. After a less successful autumn, the Portuguese was loaned to AC Milan on a deal that covered the rest of the season, including a purchase option. But the red-blacks do not seem to take advantage of the opportunity to buy the 25-year-old.

Instead, there could be a return to Benfica for Felix. Transfer expert Nicolò Schira reports that talks are ongoing between Benfica and Chelsea about a deal. Felix himself is said to be positive about a transfer, even if his high salary poses a challenge. The parties are working towards finding a solution that involves wage cuts.
