The Allsvenskan champions have already turned down a bid from French club Lens for Taha Ali given their two very important remaining games in the Europa League.
The Swedish right winger is a wizard with the ball, magic that will eventually bring him out into the big world. Malmö FF, who bought the 26-year-old from Helsingborgs IF for 700,000 euros two years ago, had great pleasure in Taha Ali when they secured this year’s championship.
However, sporting director Daniel Andersson has left the door ajar because something could still happen regarding the remarkable ball wizard. “We think Taha is incredibly good and incredibly important to us. Then we will see what happens next. We would like to keep Taha as long as we can,” Andersson said to Fotbollskanalen recently.
Foot Mercato, who wrote about the offer from Lens, without saying anything about size, has previously written about interest from Galatasaray and Trabzonspor in Turkey. Now Fotomac writes that the Turkish giants Besiktas have Taha Ali as a transfer target this winter and that they are just waiting for a check from their new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before a bid that is presumably bigger than Lens’s is sent over.
The MFF star has attracted the attention of the Turkish giants with his performance against Galatasaray in the Europa League before Christmas.
Besiktas want to strengthen their wing positions and the 26-year-old has reportedly been identified as a concrete transfer target. It remains to be seen whether a bid can be made in a size that manages to convince the sky blues to sell.
The Swedish champions seem to be keeping close to their right wing.
Ali joined MFF from Helsingborgs IF two years ago and has a contract until 2026.
