Six months into the Serie A season and now a goal and three assists from Rasmus Hojlund, Antonio Conte chooses to send a jab to Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese closed the door completely on the Dane at the end, the 22-year-old would realize he had no choice but to give up at Manchester United. Conte is known for restarting the careers of underrated Manchester United players such as Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Scott McTominay and most recently Rasmus Hojlund. In the case of Hojlund, Conte believes that Amorim and the coaching staff were simply not good enough – and spoiled.

At the press conference before Napoli’s 1-0 win over Sassuolo at the weekend, Conte spoke out in defence of the Danish striker – and verbally launched a more or less camouflaged attack on Ruben Amorim.

“Some young coaches today are arrogant and don’t want to adapt. They see a young striker struggling and instead of training him, they blame him,” Conte begins, according to The Mirror.

Before he sends a jab, straight into the side of Ruben Amorim.

“They (young coaches) are always complaining and blaming everyone but themselves, because everything is served to them on a silver platter,” Conte fires. Not very camouflaged in the direction of Ruben Amorim.
