Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is eager to sign Samu Omorodion (also known as Samu Aghehowa) in the summer. The club is struggling to find a new goalscorer, as both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have disappointed this season – the latter could even be sold.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that several clubs are keeping tabs on Hojlund, and that United could sell him if the bid is high enough. Due to financial issues, all new signings must be financed through player sales.

Unlike other clubs, United cannot commit to major transfers until they know whether or not they will play in the Champions League in Europe at all next season.
This makes it unlikely that they can bring in established top strikers such as Victor Osimhen or Viktor Gyökeres. Nevertheless, they are working on a comprehensive goal list.
Amorim wants Samu – but 100 million euros is a hurdle
Samu Omorodion has been linked with United several times in recent months. The 20-year-old Spanish talent impressed greatly when Porto faced United in the Europa League earlier in the season, where he gave Matthijs de Ligt big problems.
After scoring 20 goals in 34 games for Porto this season, he has been in demand. CaughtOffside claims that Amorim is now “personally pushing” for Manchester United to make an attempt to sign him.
But the question is whether United can afford it:
- Samu’s expiration clause is for 100 million euros.
- Porto may be willing to negotiate, but a significant part of the sum will have to go to his former club Atlético Madrid.
