There was great optimism before the start of the season. Ruben Amorim has had a solid pre-season, the Portuguese has brought in Cunha and Mbeumo who combined for 35 Premier League goals, plus a Slovenian striker with world-class potential. Although there was a loss in the opener against Arsenal at Old Trafford, Amorim was pleased to have controlled the game and shown football that “is not boring”. Then came game number two, where the accumulated optimism begins to evaporate.
Fulham with Marco Silva at the helm (and Sander Berge in midfield) is a tricky opponent. Especially at Craven Cottage, but a 1-1 draw and a draw does little for Manchester United. If Amorim doesn’t start winning games like this, the Premier League season will be another nightmare for all the world’s Manchester United supporters.

Erik ten Hag showed he never quite cracked the code in the Premier League, Ruben Amorim was brought in to take on the long-term job of putting together a game that gives United the decisive boost in the world’s toughest league. Last season, it was the league that was too tough for Amorim football, now the negative statistics continue.
Here are the numbers that shine against United supporters after two games in the new season:
Manchester United under Amorim’s rule have scored 33 times and conceded 44 goals in those 29 games. With the Portuguese at the helm, the Red Devils have lost 15 Premier League games, while there have been seven wins and seven draws.
The third round of the Premier League will tell us a lot if Amorim is on the right track, then Burnley will come to Old Trafford. Needless to say, anything other than three points is out of the question. Go Man Utd!
