Jose Mourinho has in recent months been clearly annoyed when asked about Andreas Schelderup, with his resigned answer “Schelderup, the Schelderup”, but after two Norwegian goals against Real Madrid in the 4-2 win, even The Special One realized that he had underestimated the 21-year-old. On Monday, Mourinho missed a statement about the referee so much that he had to apologize, while young Schelderup was again the one who saved victory for Benfica.
It’s never boring when Jose Mourinho runs up and down the sidelines, halfway out on the pitch. Things have really come to a head in the title battle between Porto, Sporting and Benfica. Benfica are chasing those two, for Mourinho, every game is now a final. On Monday, Gil Vicente was the opponent, Mourinho let the whole world know after the game what he thought about the referees in what ended with a 1-2 win for Benfica.

“The situation before the corner kick, which led to our goal, looks at first glance like a penalty. I accept that the referee may not have seen it, but VAR must have been out drinking coffee at that time,” Mourinho said directly after the game, according to A Bola.
When the adrenaline had subsided, José Mourinho chose to lie flat (this almost never happens) and agree with the referee’s decision.
“I’ve had the opportunity to see the situation from a different angle, and what I first thought was a penalty, turns out not to be. I apologize for my comment after the game,” Mourinho muttered.
Now to Schelderup. The Norwegian player put a corner kick perfectly in to Antonio Silva, ten minutes before halftime, who rose to the top and headed the 0-1 score. The home team Gi Vicente equalized after the break, but again Schelderup was in place in the 73rd minute with the match-winning 1-2 score.
