Andy Murray is an outstanding Scottish tennis player, who at one time was placed on a par with the greatest tennis legends. At one point in his career, his form was so good that the talk in tennis was not of the “big three” (Nadal, Federer, Djokovic) but of the “big four”, including Murray. Those times ended when the Scotsman started having problems with his hip.
In 2019, Andy Murray ended his career due to a bad hip condition that prevented him from functioning on a daily basis. The Scot then underwent surgery. The doctors put in a prosthetic hip. From now on, Murray has a metal hip. Murray is not the first tennis player to undergo surgery for an injury, nor is he the first to have his health permanently damaged by tennis. However, he is one of the first who decided to return to a professional career after such a serious surgery.
While Andy Murray has returned to tennis, he hasn’t recorded a tournament win since 2020. That has changed this year. Murray is experiencing a renaissance as he wins his third title of the season. The Scot, who left the recently completed Roland Garros, won the Nottingham Open tournament on grass. This bodes well for Murray. The Scot plans to fight at Wimbledon. Recall that the Scot has already won Wimbledon.
At the Nottingham Open, Andy Murray defeated Frenchman Arthur Cazaux 6-4, 6-4 in the final. Most recently, Murray has won 10 straight grass court victories, winning the challengers at Surbiton and Nottingham. The next event on this surface with his participation will be the ATP tournament at Queen’s Club, in which he won the most times in history – five. The competition will start on Monday.
Murray will move up in the upcoming ATP rankings to 36th place. This will be his highest position since hip surgery in 2019.
