The now 24-year-old former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes has found his form at French club Lille and is ready for something bigger again.
Angel Gomes is the type of player who doesn’t look particularly impressive until he starts to move and control his surroundings.

On Instagram, Angel Gomes confirms that life at Lille will soon come to an end, but probably not in Ligue 1: “After four memorable years at Lille, it’s time for me to say goodbye. This club has been more to me than just a team – it has been a family, a home and a place that has shaped me both on and off the pitch. Like any journey, there have been ups and downs, highs and lows, but I’m really grateful to my teammates and fans for being patient with me the whole time,”
“I am proud of what we have achieved together and grateful for all the moments. To the fans, thank you for your amazing support and for believing in me. I will be grateful forever. I have given everything for this emblem and for all of you. Little will always have a special place in my heart.”
Recently, the French newspaper L’Équipe reported that Gomes has been negotiating with league rival Marseille for several weeks.
The Englishman has also previously been linked with Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham in the Premier League.
Gomes joined Lille from United in the summer of 2020 on a free transfer and has since scored ten goals and made 19 assists in 134 appearances. He made ten appearances for Manchester United’s first team.
