According to German media, Arsenal are fully “back in the game” for German right winger Leroy Sané, after his contract negotiations with Bayern Munich have reached a dead end.

The German international has been locked in intense and ever-changing negotiations with Bayern for weeks. At first, it looked like he would leave the club this summer, but after strong performances and a willingness to take a pay cut, Bayern considered extending his deal.

The situation took a new turn when Sané changed agents in a last-ditch attempt to get a better deal – a move that seems to have backfired. Bayern refuse to walk away from their initial offer of €10 million per year with potential bonuses of €5.5 million, and no sign-on fee. Even a counteroffer from Sané’s new agent, Pini Zahavi, has not led to any progress.

According to Sky Germany, Sané has absolutely no intention of accepting Bayern’s offer, which means that he will leave the club unless one of the parties gives in before the end of the season.

Sané has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks. Arsenal have had interest for a long time, and Mikel Arteta still has a good relationship with the former Manchester City winger.

According to the German media, “The Gunners” are now clearly “back in the game” to sign the 29-year-old, but other English clubs are also monitoring the situation closely.
