The transfer window is starting to take shape in a promising way for Arsenal.

Arsenal will not start the season without a world-class No. 9, or with world-class potential. The London club tried Ollie Watkins in January, but the Aston Villa management laughed at the bid and locked the door. – Arsenal, who finished second in the Premier League again this year, are gearing up for next season, which by all accounts will be even tougher.

After prioritising the signing of a striker, the Gunners are leading the race for Benjamin Sesko after a breakthrough in negotiations with RB Leipzig this week. The Gunners wanted Sesko in a £55m deal last summer, but the Slovenian instead committed to his future at Leipzig and signed a five-year contract that runs until 2029.

Arsenal yesterday agreed on a personal deal with Benjamin Sesko and they look set to land a deal with RB Leipzig worth €100 million. In addition, they are also well placed to sign Sporting CP’s goal machine Viktor Gyokeres, which would give manager Mikel Arteta more options in that part of the pitch. But most experts think it will be too expensive for both of them.

FootballTransfers reports that Arsenal could go for two players if finances allow, and news from Germany now means that the club from Emirates are being advised to go all-in to secure a double deal.

Perfect striker duo! – Loïs Openda and Benjamin Sesko

Sky Sports’ Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that the door has been opened for Lois Openda to leave the club. It is reported that he wants a new challenge. Crucially, he could be available for around 60 million euros.

The 25-year-old Belgium international, who has scored 73 goals in the last four seasons in the league as well as 20 assists, will fit perfectly into Arteta’s plans, according to data analytics company SciSports.

According to the company’s Career Advice program, Openda has a Club Fit score of 79 for Arsenal. This is based on a number of factors, including potential development, playing time, style of play, and formation. Only Roma (85) and Aston Villa (83) score higher than the Gunners.

Of course, with Sesko at the Emirates, Openda would immediately become a more effective striker and would, crucially, give Arteta and Arsenal more flexibility in attack. Not only could he act as a replacement for the Slovenian international, he could play alongside him in a two, plus he has the ability to fill in on the wings if needed.

This clearly won’t be a priority for Arsenal, but it could be a smart move if everything falls into place otherwise.
