Arsenal fans are all saying the same thing after discovering who the club signed instead of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who landed at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners are licking their wounds after losing 3-1 on aggregate to PSG in the Champions League semi-finals.
The north London-based club’s defence struggled to keep the likes of Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi and João Neves at bay over the two games, PSG’s winter signing Kvaratskhelia was also one who left his mark on the clash.

Arsenal were first made aware of Kvaratskhelia in 2021, while he played for Georgia’s youth national team.
Scout Tomasz Pasieczny says that Arsenal followed him with interest when he played for Rubin Kazan, but ultimately chose not to sign him. A few months later, the Gunners brought in Brazilian winger Marquinhos from São Paulo.
“I was at the old stadium in Kazan for a match against Dynamo Moscow,” Pasieczny said. “Khvicha came in from the bench, failed two dribbles, and the spectators reacted very negatively.”
“Everyone knew he would be very good, but they wondered how good. Whether he would be absolute top or a little lower. Few had any doubt that he would not become anything. But at that point, I had to report the facts, draw conclusions, and write about the problems.”

Marquinhos is still under contract with Arsenal, with a deal that lasts until 2027. It has only made six appearances for the club’s first team. – He is now on loan at Cruzeiro Esporte Clube with an option to buy since this winter.
Arsenal fans on social media were furious at the decision to sign Marquinhos instead of the Georgian.
One called the election a “reason for dismissal,” while another said, “The person who made this decision should be imprisoned for treason.”
A third added, with a hint of criticism of former sporting director Edu Gaspar: “Edu is an idiot.”
